FC Baniyas

Baniyas Sports and Cultural Club was established in 1982 based on the decision of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. The establishment decision was issued to meet the region's need for infrastructure development, and local community care for Baniyas area in Abu Dhabi, as well as contributing effectively to the building of generations of conscious and responsible young people to contribute effectively to building comprehensive development of the United Arab Emirates, by creating the appropriate healthy environment to develop their skills and creating a spirit of legal competition and challenge in various sports and cultural fields. Baniyas Club started the journey in elite competitions of first division at the 1987-1988 season. After five years of playing with great teams, the team scored its first achievement by winning the Cup of His Highness the President of State in the 1991-1992 season, then it faced some difficulties to move between the first division league and the second division league, then the 2009-2010 season came, wherein it achieved another success by winning the fourth place in the league, and kept its name among great teams since that date. In the next season, the team participated in the first Gulf competition and won the title in Al Shamkha playground to etch its name in the championship records among the great teams in the Gulf through "Gulf 28" when it scores two clean goals against the Qatari Al Khawr team. After H.H Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan took office of the presidency of the club, the club started to put clear ambitious strategies to move to the level of professionalism and excellence for all sport teams and cultural and social activities in order to become one of the most important tributaries of human building in the United Arab Emirates. By having a good investment thought with Baniyas Investment Company the club started to launch many projects in Baniyas Area such as the East Gate Project which mainly aiming to develop and build global, high-quality, luxurious community. Investment also considers people by attracting young people to the Academy of the club to develop their talents and skills.
