Eintracht renew Chandler contract - "Timmy's value goes beyond sporting aspects"
Eintracht Frankfurt have extended Timothy Chandler's contract by another three years. The original deal of the 31-year-old was going to expire in 2022, the new contract will run until 2025. The two sides also have an option that would see Chandler stay at the club in another role once he has finished his career.
The former US men's national team player was an Eintracht Frankfurt academy player and returned to the club in 2014 after spending four seasons with 1.FC Nürnberg. Since then Chandler has played 154 games (10 goals) for the Eagles—he just needs two more games to break into the top 10 of non-German national team eligible players with the most games for Eintracht.

"Timmy's value for the team and everyone involved goes beyond sporting aspects," director of sport Fredi Bobic said in a club statement. "Because of his contributions to the club he is highly valued by everyone and his word is respected. I am happy that in Timmy, another leader and role model has signed a long-term contract in Frankfurt. The long-term deal and the option to keep him at the club afterward are part of a strategy to keep players at the club at important roles after they have retired."
