Transfermarkt has now updated the market value of every player in India's second tier, the I-League. Unlike the top division, the I-League gained significantly in the latest market value update. Despite a drop of 2.2 crore in squad value, Sreenidi Deccan FC maintain their spot at the top of the squad value rankings, where Real Kashmir boast the biggest increase and now occupy sixth place. Colombian star striker David Castañeda remains the league’s most valuable player, after claiming the title since his arrival. Mohammedan's Lalremsanga is the most valuable Indian in the league.

After a mixed start to the season, Aizawl is on a seven-game unbeaten run with three wins and four draws, One of the main reasons for the side’s impressive run is Indian striker Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia, who was directly involved in 9 goals in 10 I-League games this term and is one of the most in-form players in the Indian second division this season.

Young foreigners in good form have a big advantage from the update. The biggest gainers from the update include Gnoheré Krizo, Richardson Denzell, and Lalrinzuala Lalbiaknia. "New clubs in the I-League made significant gains with a rise in the league level. It was expected for the second division to gain value, as many new players would get their first values," said Transfermarkt India's market value administrator, Elson Issac.

William Pauliankhum, Deepak Devrani, and Aryan Lamba are among the players whose values have been reduced. Several variables impacted these players, including age, form, and insufficient playing time. Former FC Goa star Edu Bedia lost 20 Lakhs in the update.

How Transfermarkt market values work?

The Transfermarkt market values are calculated, taking into account various pricing models. A major factor is the Transfermarkt community, whose members discuss and evaluate player market values in detail.

In general, the Transfermarkt market values are not to be equated with transfer fees.
The goal is not to predict a price but an expected value of a player in a free market. Both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant in determining market values. Examples of this are listed below. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (you can find the detailed market value definition here).
