Lamine Yamal has made history for Barcelona. After writing LaLiga history, Yamal became the youngest player in Barça’s UEFA Champions League history. At 16 years, two months, and six days, Yamal, in fact, became the second youngest player in Champions League history when he was brought on in the 68th minute in his club’s 5-0 victory over Royal Antwerp. Only Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko was even younger than Yamal when he made his debut.

Like Yamal, Moukoko could break the record for the youngest goalscorer this season. That record is currently held by Gavi (overview). But Moukoko and Yamal aren’t the only players capable of breaking Gavi’s record. Whether it is Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, PSG’s Warren Zaïre-Emery or Man City’s Rico Lewis, the list of talented U19 Champions League players that could dethrone Gavi this season is very long. Perhaps the record will already fall tomorrow when Bayern Munich host Manchester United.

But Yamal was not the only Barcelona player to make history on Tuesday. Teammate Robert Lewandowski scored Barça’s second goal that evening and his 100th overall in the competition, including qualifying. Only two other players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, have managed to reach the century mark. Without qualifying, Lewandowski is still eight goals short of the milestone. But as the only active player in the top five, he can further cement his place behind Messi and Ronaldo and perhaps reach the century mark for goals scored during the group and knockout stages (overview).

Champions League roundup – Ivan Provedel writes history for Lazio

Still somewhat away from the century mark is Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel. The 29-year-old became the hero for Lazio when he headed home the equalizer in a 1-1 draw against Atlético Madrid. Provedel is just the fourth goalkeeper to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League. The other three goalkeepers are Hans Jörg Butt, Sinan Bolat and Vincent Enyeama. German goalkeeper Butt leads all goalkeepers with three goals. Butt scored for Hamburger SV, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich. All three goals were from the spot and in group-stage matches against Juventus (overview).
