Bustos returned to his regular club Club Atlético Talleres last summer after a six-month loan spell at CF Pachuca and impressed with nine goals and four assists in 20 league appearances in the 2019/20 season. At the beginning of the year, he also participated in the qualifiers for the Olympic Games with the Argentinean U23.
Talleres had also negotiated the sale of Bustos with Bundesliga clubs Hertha BSC and 1. FC Köln, according to media reports. The are understood to have offered almost €5 million as well as a resale participation of 20% – a not enough for the Argentinians.
