....

I don't know what Mourinho does. I know what I do: I always want to win, without crossing the line of sportsmanship. It's true that I get on better with some coaches than others and I align myself with those that don't value winning at any cost.

Not all the players Chelsea are trying to sign this offseason can make an immediate impact. Andre Gomes of Benfica, for example, is someone who’s more likely to contribute further down the line, if he actually comes.

And it’s not that he’s going to come cheaply. According to A Bola, the 19 year old midfielder, currently playing with Portugal in the U-20 World Cup, recently signed a contract that keeps him at the Estadio da Luz until 2019, and within it is a €30 million release clause, which Benfica are at the moment holding out for.

Chelsea ‘agree personal terms with Edinson Cavani’ as transfer nears

Chelsea have taken a big step towards winning the race to sign in-demand Napoli player Edinson Cavani, after the Blues reportedly agreed personal terms with the striker.

Chelsea are among a host of clubs across Europe who are keen on the Uruguay international, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also in pursuit.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis yesterday revealed City were the only club to have tabled an official bid for the 26-year-old, but said it fell well short of their £54m valuation.

Bayern Munich are set to launch a £35million bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy believe the Brazil international, hugely impressive in recent weeks as his homeland won the Confederations Cup, has a massive long-term role to play in the club's future.

However, Luiz's reluctance to dismiss the idea of a summer move in the wake of Paris St-Germain's interest has made European champions Bayern believe he could be prised out of the west London club.
